City of Martinsburg's Fireworks
On July 4, at 9:30 pm, Zambelli Fireworks will be presenting the City of Martinsburg’s fireworks display from a new location on the hill at the end of E. John Street. The public will not be allowed to access E. John Street past the intersection of Oak Street.
While this is the City's first year at this location, some of the sites that folks viewed a smaller December fireworks display from included: PO Faulkner Park; the Caperton Train Station; Adam Stephen House, various areas around Downtown Martinsburg and the Berkeley 2000 Center. We believe this area will allow for more visibility and allows for the display to be set off on City property. There is not a designated or centralized gathering place for viewing the July 4th display as there are various areas where they can be viewed.

The American Conservation Film Festival (ACFF)
The American Conservation Film Festival (ACFF) announces its 2025 Festival, set to take place March 6 - 9 at the Frank Arts Center on the campus of Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. The festival will showcase 28 inspiring films that share powerful stories of hope, resilience, and the incredible individuals making a difference for our planet.
This year’s lineup offers animation, documentary and fictional films, ranging from 3 to 90 minutes long. From wolves to fungi, snowy owls to hummingbirds and green burials to rewilding a historic English estate, there are topics to fit every interest. All screenings will be presented with open-captioning to ensure accessibility in an atmosphere of shared passion and curiosity. Audiences will have the unique opportunity to connect with more than a dozen filmmakers attending the festival and to hear from scientists and as well as Dr. John Francis, subject of the Oscar shortlisted, Planetwalker. Movie-goers can dive to the ocean floor, fly through the forests of Hawaii and travel between Bengal India and Yellowstone National Park – all from the comfort of their theater seat.
ACFF audience members call the films “wonderful, thought provoking, engaging, and beautifully done.” The films continue to have impact long after the festival ends.
The Frank Arts Center offers a welcoming venue with FREE and easy parking for all attendees. Festival passes and tickets are on sale now. Admission for students (grades 5-12) is free. For more details visit conservationfilmfest.org.
