Established between the years of 1848 and 1850, the Martinsburg Roundhouse Center created the presence of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle.
The Roundhouse complex played an important role in the history of the railroad and the city of Martinsburg and Berkeley County. It was a major regional transportation node and one of the major employers in the region during and after the Civil War.
Today, the Roundhouse Center serves as a historical and unique meeting and event facility. Sitting on over 13 acres, the facility includes 30,000 square-feet of meeting space and can be configured in a number of different ways to accommodate tradeshows, revivals or theatre-style meeting space.
Three large buildings comprise the Roundhouse Center, two of which are connected. The third building is conveniently located only a few steps away. The buildings combined can host an event of approximately 6,000 attendees.
A new handicap accessible pedestrian bridge linking the facility to the downtown area has just been installed and the site also offers onsite parking that is bus accessible.
Martinsburg is also host of another exclusive 19th century meeting facility. Located on 10-acres of land at 601 South Queen Street in Martinsburg, the Boydville Mansion is the perfect quaint setting to gather and celebrate special events.
The historic estate and spacious grounds can accommodate weddings, family reunions, birthdays, promotions, anniversaries or corporate events of all sizes.
